SETE AND THE LANGUEDOC ROUSSILLON REGION

A region to invest in
Languedoc Roussillon lies at the crossroads between Spain and Northern Europe, and between Spanish Catalonia and Lombardy in Italy. The region’s access to the Mediterranean makes it a major European through-route and an open, attractive area to invest in, due to:
1. its decisive role as a European multimodal communications platform,
2. its university and research centres, which are involved in many international cooperation projects,
3. its network of manufacturing and service SMF’s heavily involved in foreign markets,
4. the large number of foreign companies that have set up in Languedoc Roussillon, thus increasing the region’s openness to the outside world.

Establishment grants
Eight of the communes in the Sète basin are eligible for “Feder-objectif 2”, which allows companies to benefit from investment, property and non-material grants. The whole of the Sète basin is classified as being eligible for the PAT (area development grant) :

New companies : (under certain conditions)
1. Discount in the form of exemption from tax on profits.
2. Possibility of exemption from property and professional tax, depending on the commune and the nature of the project.

Takeover of a manufacturing company :

A number of companies have set up in Sète’s port industrial area and work directly with
port-related businesses :
